Hunan Xiangdian Power Co., Ltd., as a state-owned holding mixed-ownership enterprise, has been deeply involved in the field of integrated power systems for civilian ships. With its strong technical accumulation and many key breakthroughs, it has become an important supplier of ship electric propulsion systems in China.
Since its establishment in 2017, the company has relied on the strong foundation of its predecessor, the Special Electrical Division of Xiangtan Electric Group, to dedicate itself to the research and development and manufacturing of ship motors, electrical controls, and complete sets of equipment. In recent years, Xiangtan Electric Power has achieved remarkable results in the field of integrated ship power systems. This system covers six major subsystems: power generation, transmission and distribution, power transformation and distribution, propulsion, energy storage, and energy management, realizing the efficient conversion and intelligent management of mechanical energy into electrical energy.
In 2016, the company raised 2.5 billion yuan through a private placement to invest in the “Serial Research and Industrialization Project of Integrated Ship Power Systems,” which is now basically completed and in operation. In terms of key technologies, the company has achieved breakthroughs in system integration, electromagnetic compatibility, vibration and noise suppression, and electrical insulation, mastering more than 20 core processes and building the 816 test workshop with advanced testing conditions.
