Against the backdrop of the ongoing push for “dual-carbon” goals, my country’s rail transit industry is undergoing a new round of equipment upgrades and green transformation. Recently, a comprehensive solution focusing on the upgrading and transformation of locomotive equipment was officially released, showcasing breakthroughs in new energy locomotive retrofitting, intelligent system applications, and full life-cycle services, injecting new momentum into the industry’s high-quality development.
This solution leverages the industrial cluster advantages of Zhuzhou, Hunan, the birthplace of my country’s electric locomotive industry, integrating up to 80% of local supporting resources to form a complete industrial chain support from R&D and testing to final manufacturing. The technical team, with over 46 years of industry experience, has long served major domestic and international vehicle manufacturers, accumulating rich experience in core components and system solutions.
Technically, the company has established 31 innovation platforms, including a national-level enterprise technology center. Its laboratory is ISO17025 certified and holds CNAS and CMA qualifications. The company has accumulated 1,041 patents, including 217 invention patents, participated in the formulation of 22 national and industry standards, and nurtured numerous specialized and innovative SMEs and single-item champion products, demonstrating strong innovation capabilities.
In terms of quality assurance, the modification process strictly adhered to railway overhaul standards and passed multiple tests, including traction, braking, and rain tests, on the CRRC rolling test bench, obtaining CNAS testing reports. The car body structure underwent life extension assessment by a key university laboratory, confirming low damage under service loads and significant potential for life extension.
The new energy locomotive platform covers various types, including four-axle, six-axle, and low-power models, and boasts multiple advantages such as energy saving of over 85%, zero carbon emissions, safety and reliability, and convenient maintenance. The intelligent system has also been comprehensively upgraded, including video surveillance (including audio pickup), energy management, remote control driving, high-precision positioning, obstacle detection, and unattended intelligent driving functions, significantly improving operational efficiency and safety.
In terms of service models, flexible cooperation methods are offered, including whole vehicle leasing, retrofitting + leasing, component leasing, acquisition + leasing + buyback, and full life-cycle maintenance, covering the entire process from technology confirmation and contract signing to turnkey delivery. Currently, the relevant equipment is in operation at over 200 service stations nationwide, including those of China State Railway Group, China Energy Investment Corporation, Haoji Railway, Shaanxi Coal Group, Qinghai-Tibet Railway, and Hong Kong, with a service network covering the entire country.
With the promotion and application of this solution, the pace of green and intelligent upgrading of my country’s rail transit equipment will be further accelerated, providing strong support for promoting energy conservation and emission reduction and improving operational efficiency in the industry.
